What is Tree Campus USA?

Tree Campus USA is national recognition that your college can earn by meeting five annual standards developed to promote healthy trees and student involvement.

  1. You need a Campus Tree Advisory Committee
  2. Your Facilities team must have a Tree Care Plan
  3. There needs to be evidence of annual expenditures on the Tree Care Plan
  4. Arbor Day must be observed
  5. You have to plan a tree-related Service Learning Project for the students
(1-3 require Facilities and Administration attention)

Why should my college participate?

Everyone benefits from the trees on your campus:

  • They help to cool your residence halls and classrooms and beautify your campus
  • Trees provide food and shelter for the many forms of wildlife you see on campus
  • And the oxygen you like to breath...that comes from trees too.

Tree Campus USA recognition helps to assure that your college continues to plant and care for trees on campus so that you-and the environment-can keep enjoying them into the future.
